Wally Lewis is the best five-eight in the history of NRL. He has played 31 origin games for QLD and has been captain for QLD 30 times. He has won 8 state of origin man of the match awards. Wally Lewis has also played Nationally for Australia and was captain from 1984-1989. Lewis went on to be named as five eight in Australian rugby league's team of the century. He was named in the hall of fame for rugby league. He is now commentating for rugby league and helps with coaching NRL teams. In June 2008, he was also chosen in the Queensland rugby league team of the century at
five-eighth and captain. He is one of the eight Immortals inducted in 1999.

Irvine was known for his great speed earning him a place on the blues team and also for the Australian rugby league team. He was in the team of the century and was named on wing for both Australia and NSWs team of the century. Ken Irvine still holds the record for the most trie with 212 tries. The closest any player has gotten to that record is Steve Menzies with 180 tries. Ken Irvine also scored 32 tries in Origon scoring 3 less tries than Darren Lockyer.
